My wedding coordinator at the hotel was great (which is the only reason I am giving any positive marks) but if I had to do it all again I would have gone to a different hotel. We felt nickel and dimed at every turn. It seemed that whenever the hotel didn’t want to do something they threw out a crazy price. A few of the things we were most upset about: (i) $2.50/glass for a sugar rim and strawberry for my martini glasses (after making a stink about it they reduced the charge to $2/glass); (ii) $170 for use of a microphone for 30 minutes; (iii) lighting quote that was 3 times what was charged by all other vendors ; (iv) the valet parking attendants trying to charge my guests for parking despite the fact that we paid for all this upfront; (v) being charged extra for specific brands of alcohol that are readily available in all liquor stores (even though we were already paying for their best bar). Our coordinator really worked hard to advocate for us but sadly she was limited in what she could do for us. If we could have taken her to another venue I think our entire wedding experience would have been a whole lot better. For future brides considering this hotel, look elsewhere.

My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding at the Royal Sonesta! Their facilities (ballroom, cocktail hour room) are absolutely gorgeous and offer great views of Boston. The food is fantastic, and countless guests told us how amazing it was. Most importantly, the servive that we received from our wedding coordinator was absolutely and incredibly exceptional. He was EXCELLENT - very responsive, extremely helpful. He thought of everything and answered every single question that I had during the entire process. We all knew that every member of their staff was committed to making our day the best it could possibly be, and it was. I can't say enough good things about working with the Sonesta for our wedding. They were wonderful, and everything was gorgeous. HIGHLY recommended!

Our first coordinator left the hotel in the middle of our planning process, but the new coordinator was fabulous. We loved Christine and can't say enough about how helpful and patient she was. We had a rather large and detailed wedding, and she was ready and willing to do whatever possible to make it easier for us. The food was excellent--our guests are still talking about it. And the location is beautiful--the hotel is modern, but classy.

We held our reception at the Sonesta in the Riverfront room. It is the smaller of the two ballrooms there. It was wonderful! they say it can hold 150-160, but we had 140 with a band and I wouldn't have wanted any more people in there. The service and communication was great. Everyone raved about the food. But, you get what you pay for, it was expensive. I sort of felt they nickled and dimed us on a few things, which is why value is a 4 star. For example, we upgraded the bar to premium brands for the reception, and we had to pay extra to upgrade the bar for the cocktail hour (which deluxe brands were included in the package). You'd think they'd just throw it in if you are paying for premium liquor. The wedding coordinator there is super organized and very responsive and easy to work with.

The Royal Sonesta was the location/ caterer for our wedding reception. Our planner Will was amazing--he was assuring, helpful, organized, and extremely professional. The space was beautiful, overlooking the Charles River and the food was to die for. I highly recommend the Sonesta.

Getting married at the Sonesta Boston was the best decision I ever made, after of course meeting my husband! The staff and wedding planner handled everything from start to finish. My wedding book is filled with smiling guests enjoying them selves with a great Boston skyline and St. Charles River and not to forget the amazing food. Check out their great wedding package you wont regret it! http://www.sonesta.com/Boston/

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. We enjoyed massages at the hotel spa and a late, light dinner in the restaurant (Dante?), and our lovely view of the Charles River.
